"Custody" is generally defined by physical placement and decision-making authority. There are several types of custody commonly established. The two most common forms
of custody are 'Sole' custody, where one parent has most or all of the decision-making
authority and time with the children, and 'Joint' or 'Shared' custody where parental responsibilities and parenting time
are shared.
