Title: Arrears
Post by: forthekids24 on Apr 29, 2004, 12:51:19 PM
DCSS filed the CS paperwork 1/27/04.  Even though there is not an amount set now, I know it will be retro to that date.

Will arrears automatically be put on the amount due once it is set?

Example:  They decided on $200/ month.  Will a check need to be cut for the $200/ month, plus arrears on the day it is ruled on?

Thanks!!!

Hi.  When my ex-husband was in arrears (by 1600.00) and they set my a figure for my monthly child support.  They put in an agreed judgement entry that he pay his arrearages at 100.00 per month.. Exampl:  I get 713.00 per month, he had to pay 813.00 per month until arrearages were paid up.  Good Luck.

I don't know what state you are in but the judge (even though a totally father bias old hag) told DH that she would list his *arrears from the date of filing ..COUGH, HACK, what about the 7 years SHE never paid??* as retroactive support instead of arrears as long as he paid in full it by a certain date. You don't want arrears, they are listed on your credit report. Try not to do that if possible. If not, do as the wonderful poster above suggested.
Good Luck!
