Title: Emanciapation in Md
Post by: Tsidney01 on Oct 24, 2005, 12:07:37 PM
I read your posting for emanciapation in Md.  The age is 18, however in Oct 1,  2001 the law for Md states that if a child is still in secondary school he/she is entitled to support from both parents.  Therefore, supports is to continue until the child graduates.  I verifed this information with my attorney as well.  It makes sense because in Md the age for entering school is slowing be changed so the child is 5 before starting.  It used to be as long as a child turned 5 by December 31 they could enter school.
