My soon to be ex wants to have custody of our two little girls all week and then alternate every other weekend.  Our girls are 3 & 2. She thinks it's what is in the best interest of the girls for stability and structure. I disagree and think what's best is they have equal time with both parents. Help!!!!

Are you legally married?
Are you still living in the home with ex and kids? (if you are, STAY there , even if you stay in different room/couch)

Many judges are leaning toward a more fair parenting plan but standard is usually every other weekend and one dinner visit during the week, add holidays and vacations. You need to show the courts you can take care of the kids more than the standard time. Go to dr appts whenever possible. Do you both work? Who will watch kids on your times when you are at work- most courts will give mom time over babysitters?

Go see a family lawyer in your area for a consult. Most times you can talk to a lawyer for an hour for free or under $100. Ex is pushing for the standard so you pay child support. In NY, it is 25% of your salary for two children. Stay in the house if possible and see a lawyer.
