Title: Reunification therapy --Court-involved versus community therapist-Advice Please
Post by: onemoreyear on Dec 04, 2016, 09:40:42 AM
My teenage son has been estranged from his father for over a year, and when I filed for custody and support, the judge ordered reunification therapy.

the order is written such that my ex and I can agree on any community therapist with experience in reunification therapy or if we can't agree, I choose a court involved therapist.

does any one have any input on the pros and cons of using a court involved therapist vs community therapist?

thanks

I'm not sure there's a lot of difference as long as the therapist is qualified to do reunification therapy.

Perhaps other people here will have some input.

I agree -- either one would probably have to report back to the court.

Maybe that's a local term?
