Title: HOW DO I PRESENT MY STORY?
Post by: chiquito2005 on Aug 17, 2005, 07:43:03 PM
I'll be representing myself in a trial about more time with my kids.

How do I tell my story during the trial? I can't possibly ask myself questions during the trial.  Do you know how it works in cases like this?  Please share your experiences and thoughts. I know it's a challenge representing myself but I have NO choice. (I know very well I need a lawyer but I can't afford one).

Thanks for your help

Have you gone to mediation yet? Usually they will start you off with a mediator to see if you can hash things out and then go to the judge for the the things you could not agree on. When we asked for more time, my dh stated his case as to why more time with us would be good for child instead of with babysitters. This was done during mediation and the mediator told BM that it sounded fair....I would stick to the facts and do not bash BM at all. Good luck!
