Title: medical coverage
Post by: vlad tepes on Mar 06, 2006, 10:15:14 AM
baby is probably going to stay with creature this summer in louisiana. that's 3 months.  right now baby has medicaid with me, but that's a state issue, isn't it?  if she's in louisiana her illinois medicaid won't work.  so creature will have to have medical insurance for her there, right?  if so, is that going to hamper baby's eligibility for medicaid here at home?

"so creature will have to have medical insurance for her there, right? "

That's not a given.

Medicaid has to be transferred to the new state even if temporarily and then transferred back to get medicaid coverage.

That's what my EX-MIL had to do for herself when she went on an extended out of state vacation.

Medicaid is a creature in of itself -- call them and ask what they recommend.
