"The Sheriff's dept. has up to 2- 5 years depending on the situation to investigate".....BUT.....another quote, "If I (meaning the Constable) call and order and investigation, they have up to 10 days to interview the child"......."however, if the child makes an outcry to a (mandatory reporter), they will investigate imediately (within 24 hours)". "Reports by other parents are viewed as BS unless the child makes the outcry"....he suggested a teacher/counselor/or police official/Dr. etc...."Reports of physical abuse (made by the child) get imediate attention!"
Not knowing the father, or child's age etc. I couldn't answer all of his questions, but hope this helps.
