Title: Parental Coordinator
Post by: someonewhocares on Sep 27, 2005, 07:03:29 AM
Good Morning,

I just have one question!

1. Do you have any tips on working with a parenting coordinator?

This will be the second one we have seen since the ex wife denies the visitation.

Thank you

Yes, first thing, request from the parenting coordinator, a copy of the legal and ethical rules under which the person is obligated to work. Every person who is appointed by the court has a definite and certain scope of authority. Until you know what this particular social worker is supposed to do, you can't decide how (or whether) to work with him/her.

And, since I've never worked with a parenting coordinator, I have no clue as to how to advise you, until I get more info.

I'm not ducking the question. I am continually amazed at the lengths to which judges will go, in order to avoid having to do any substantive work.
