Here's a very long story in short form.

I was never married to my son's mom. About 4 years ago I began having problems with her not allowing me to see him. I was suppose to have visitation with him this past summer but the day before we were to meet (I'm in Illinois and she's in Georgia) she said she had changed her mind from that point she refuses to answer my phone calls and when she does she just picks up and sits the phone down. I don't even have the option to leave her a voicemail.

I spoke with an attorney who told me that everything I would pay him to do I could do on my own. I was happy to hear that because I can't afford an attorney right now. He suggested that I legitimize my son so that the courts can immediately issue visitation, but I know if she receives any form of court documents that she will become scared and really shut down. Is there a sample letter that I can send her to let her know that if she doesn't work with me on seeing him (I'm willing to drive the distance but she doesn't allow me access once I'm there)

Is there a sample letter that I can reference to say something a long the lines of "I want to reach a written/verbal agreement for xxx time for our child, this is my final attempt before I feel that we need to have the courts intervene?"

I'm also looking for a template where I can document the dates and times that I've tried talking to him.
