How does a father of two daughters, going through a divorce, get more visitation time?  The last court order stated that I only see my daughters every other weekend.  Is that usual for fathers fighting for more visitation time?  I was seeing my daughters almost every day, and had them one night during the weekend, as agreed upon between my ex and I.  Now that this court order came out, she will not let me see them during the week.  What can I do?

General Issues / Getting through to my ex

I have been going through a divorce for a year.  Nothing is getting done, except that I am becoming more and more in debt.  I have tried to talk to my ex-wife about these issues, and would like to settle things without all of the lawyer fees.  How do I approach someone who is so unapproachable?  How do I get it through to her that we are both wasting an insane amount of money?

Custody Issues / Joint Custody

I am a father going through a divorce.  I have two young daughters that live with their mother.  We have joint custody, but it seems like their mother makes all of the decisions without notifying me.  Under a court order that came out, I get to see my daughters every other weekend, Friday night until Sunday night.  Now that this court order came out, my soon to be ex-wife will not let me see my daughters like I was during the week.  I would like to be able to see then at least twice during the week, on top of every other weekend.  I don't know what to do to make this possible.  I have talked to my lawyer about this issue, but nothing seems to be getting done.  What do I do to be able to see my daughters more?  Do you think that I am able to have it legally documented that I can get them during the week?

General Issues / Lawyer/Divorce issues

I have been going through a divorce for about a year now.  Nothing has gotten accomplished, except the fact that I am more and more in debt.  I feel like my lawyer is not representing me as best as he can.  I have given him all important information regarding how much money I make, and what I have been spending my money on.  Somehow, the court judged that I make $20,000 more that I do per year, and are saying that I owe $1,000 more in child support per month.  I did have a couple of small, part-time jobs before the divorce, where I was making about $5,000 more per year total, and only had those jobs for about a year.  I no longer work those jobs, and I cannot afford to pay what the judge ordered.  Why is it that with the information that I had given my lawyer to prove all of this is false, the judge still decided that I pay more in child support and living expenses?
