Mar 17, 2006, 07:08:55 AM
A friend of mine is in hard spot, his ex has a child by another man that she concieved while still married to him.Her and the child's father are no longer together, she has moved on to someone else.
Can she collect support from my friend  for the child as well as the support she collects from the real father?
He is already supporting their children, and cant aford to be supporting someone else child?

Also dont forget they would subtract they amount you pay in insurance for the child...

They did in our county,$2,700.00 for each one of them. The sheet had all other children in both households when figuring they amount of household income that would be considered.
Your husband never got a paper that showed how they figured the amount he had to pay? They must do things a little differant in your county.Which could also mean their guidelines are differant.
Also they didnt take into efect that her then current husband had a job.It upset's us every time we think about how hard we have, and how easy the way of life is for them. The system is set up to work against fathers in support and custody.
If i can answer anything else for you just holler......Best of luck.........

They gave both my DH and BM the same amount of deduction for each child they had in their homes(other than the child in question). In the total amount of gross income. And the yearly income for each household was differant. They inputed and income for the BM because she didnt work. They inputed a yearly income for her at min.wage level.
They allow for who pays insurance for the child,or daycare payed. Also any city taxes paid. And overtime an bonuses. Also i made a mistake on the amount of the deduction,it was $2,700.00.I went back and checked over his papers,so i wouldnt tell you wrong.
Also take into afect this has been a few years back, seems like they change things from year to year.
Hope i help out a little more this time.I was afaid to say much before in fear of BM reading it,but now i dont care.
Best of luck..............
P.S. Hope i'm not confusing you more....

Called and asked a lawyer about going back to court and chargeing her with contempt. He said all she had to do to get out of it is to declare "hardship"money problems. With neither her or her husband working and all those children involved, the court would mostlikely let it slide.
I asked about the fact she maintains Dish Network, fixing her house up.And also told him my thought that she still had a phone just changed the number/unlisted.Still he said she would at the most get a verbal scolding. And it's going to cost alot to prove she still has one.
I give up!! The system does not want to help the fathers, they only want the money. You hear in the news about all these so called dead beat dads, but you never hear anything on T.V. about all these mothers milking the system for years.
Sorry about the vent  and thanks for your help! I guess we'll just have to live with it.

My husband has an dated court order for visitation's with his child. In the court order it's stated that he have a phone call each week with the child. And this was also something the GAL wanted to in his report.
Now the BM is saying she no longer has a phone. And when you call its disconected. We called information and there's none listed. But we have strong info that she just had the number changed and unlisted.(afraid to post info in case she's comes upon this site.)
My ouestion is if she still has a phone, isnt that a violation against a court order, not to give the number to my husband? Not haveing phone contact is causeing problems with visitations and other things. Can something be done?

I cant beleive the state lets them collect this amount of a return when their getting state aid.She never worked and these men at the most work 2 months out of the year. And i dont know how this happen with support but he his court ordered to pay a set amount every year. But when you add up what they take out each month he's paying two months extra. And they said it has to stay that way to keep him from haveing arrea's?Sometimes I feel like i'm on the
jerry.springer show...........................
