They've now added an online petition for asking the Legislature to pass shared parenting in 2008.  If you haven't signed it yet, please do so - http://petition.washingtonsharedparenting.com

Need an email address for a Washington State DSHS or DCS employee - check out dshs.WashingtonSharedParenting.com as well for an online database.  We recommend you do all of your communications with DCS via email so you have a documentation trail.  Don't use the phone with them any longer.

Do you know anyone in Washington State?  We  need you to ask them to sign the Shared Parenting Petition that is located at petition.WashingtonSharedParenting.com

We are asking our legislature and the governor to move our shared parenting bill out of the committtee, onto the floor and on to passage.

WE NEED THE HELP OF ALL WASHINGTON FAMILIES.  Please, ask them to sign the petition.  We are counting on you!

Your suggestion is an excellent one.  Greg Howe, who runs The Other Parent, and his group is very active in working with Senator Kastama.  Greg will be a contributing author on the WashingtonSharedParenting.com web site.  As the legislative season starts to kick into action, you will see lots of stories related to Shared Parenting being posted.

In the mean time, we are focusing on identifying any candidates that specfically support or don't support the notion of presumptive Shared Parenting.  If you have contact with a candidate, and can ask the question and get a direct answer, we would love to post to the site those that do and don't support Shared Parenting.

Some may say they support it, but behave differently in Olympia.  If we h ave it in writing, we can hold them accountable for their actions.

We welcome your active participation on the site.

There is a new site for custodial and non-custodial parents in Washington State at http://washingtonsharedparenting.com.

The goal of the site is to help move along laws and initiatives to promote presumptive shared parenting in all divorces in Washington State.

Anyone is welcome, and your participation is encouraged.  The main site is a blog where we will discuss any and all stories we find about shared Custody and it contains a forum where we hope to have information to assist parents seeking joint custody, struggling with shared parenting, or similar issues.
