Shrink Rap / does it matter
Nov 12, 2009, 12:09:02 PM
ex has a lot of sociopathic tendencies

lies lies lies  (even if something is on paper, in black & white, ex will still lie about it)
justifies/excuses
manipulating
and plays the pity party-poor me game to a "T"

however, ex has never been violent

so,  would it matter in a custody case?

i know i will never get the truth on anything, where my child has been, with whom, or how they may have gotten a bump or bruise.  i will never get the whole honest truth!

i am quite certain that the ex will teach my child to lie (or just not tell)

so in a custody case, would the judge care?  would it be worth the time, effort, & money to involve a psycholgist?

any ideas, thoughts, or opinions greatly appreciated

thank you

Custody Issues / Re: gal to visit next week
Nov 05, 2009, 08:49:06 AM
update:  gal did home visit,  not much of anything

daughter was home,  which did not seem to matter
gal asked to speak with me privately, never asked her a thing
never asked to see anything
just went over visitation concerns

strange... i would have thought they'd like to at least see the childs bedroom!

anyone else have a visit like this?

leaves me to wonder how much he will "investigate" at the ex's

thank you,  i will call & ask if they would like her there or to reschedule.

i guess i'm looking for any stupid little thing that has helped or hurt someones case

ie:  has anyone had a problem because there was a window blind cord left within reach of the child

what "one" thing am i overlooking;  what's that one silly thing they notice?

house is clean,  i own the home
outlets all have covers
safe, fenced yard
no booze in the house, no one drinks
child has own room, toddler bed
there is a tv in his room... is that ok?

what if there's a baseball on the floor???   am i just worrying tooooo much???

Custody Issues / gal to visit next week
Oct 29, 2009, 09:43:52 AM
my first meeting with attorney/guardian is scheduled for next week, in my home

other than not bashing the ex,  are there any suggestions?

also, should i have my daughter there?  would it be best that the gal meet with her and see both of my kids together, or being that she is to visit her father, should i let the gal see that i don't interfere with their schedule?

thanks for any thoughts

Custody Issues / experience needed
Oct 26, 2009, 12:09:22 PM
new to this,  court appointed a gal, 1 -two yr. old child

visitation is temporary at 2 weeknights; 6-9 pm with one overnight every other weekend

So what should i expect next?   Is there a standard they follow?
ie:  personnal interview, home eval, phsyc.eval

Any specifics they look for?  hints?  advise??

anything please

thank you

thanks, but yes, i feel it's too much.

child just gets home in the evening to turn around and leave again.  twice a week

and at two... suddenly sleeping in a strange bed, in a strange place

i worry alot about it

and from what i understand this is temporary, until the gal evaluation and final court hearing, every thing could change again

have you any experience with gal?

well, i was shocked

attorneys & magistrate only (we sat in waiting area)  set visitation

just like that!

2 nights per week, 1 night everyother weekend;  for a 2 year old

sorry, but i think that too much for that age

the court also appointed a guardian ad litem

Does anyone have any advise with the gal??

back to court in 60 days
