Father's Issues / help !!!!
May 19, 2009, 10:42:58 AM
Ok people .. I need some serious advice .. this past weekend my daughter (8 years old) called me .. all happy and nice because it was her birthday the next day ..
during our conversation, my daughter asked how my wife (her stepmother) was.  Immediately after her name came out of my daughters mouth .. I heard "NO MOMMY .. NO MOMMY .. SLap slap slap .. and the phone went dead.

I tried to call back, several times .. and didn't get an answer.  Being that I love about 70 miles from my daughter I decided to call the police and child services, about the welfare of my daughter.  They went to the house and apparently there was no answer and the police told me there was nothing else they could do.

I have shared custody every other week and picked my daughter up from school yesterday (it's my week).  She told me that her mother BEAT her ... and this particular incident was because her mother has a rule .. never to talk about me .. her father, or my wife .. in her house .. and as a punishment, she slapped and hit her in the head several times.

Now....I discipline my daughtr when she misbehaves .. and am not against a spanking ...
I describe a spanking as slaps on the behind .. NOT the FACE .. HEad .. pulling hair .. or anything else with beating up.

Ok .. sorry for the long windedness, but my daughter says that this type of discipline happens all the tie ..

My question is .... what is the difference of DISCIPLINE ... and ABUSE ?  And should I pursue this and report it as ABUSE .. I am only worried about my daughters well being ..

PLEASE HELP !!

I am attempting to file a motion to modify visitation in RHODE ISLAND.  I an the NCP and recently had to move 70 miles away for my job.  Visitation was set for week on week off, and I initially was maintaining 2 residences in order to continue weekly visitation.

My LAST option was to modify visitaion, but I am no longer able to maintain 2 residences.  CP is being very uncooperative and I feel that I have no choice but to take her back to court for the modification.  Thing is .. I can;t even afford that right now ..

I have no where to live with my child in her home state, and very well cannot keep her out of school every other week.

Suggestions ?  Similar situations ??!  HELP !!!!

CP (aka, babies momma) is causing way too much stress and strife in life...she recently called DCYF on my wife because daughter came back to her with a scratch on her shoulder and told BP that it was from a towel that my wife threw at her ... lie.

CP, doesn't make anything easy .. whether it's todo with complying to visitation or me being able to take my daughter on vacation with me for a week .. it's ALWAYS a fight ..

Does anyone know what's involved in reliquishing one's parental rights ..

Please respond .. this is chewing on my mind and I'm about to go crazy !!

Apr 17, 2006, 07:36:35 AM
It's not a beach resort .. .my wife is from St. Thomas and we are going there for a week .. what does it matter how old my child is ... if the shoe was on the other foot, CP would have no problem taking her for a weeks vacation .. she's giving trouble because it's everyone will be going, new wife, new child and my daughter ...

Visitation Issues / Advice Please !!!
Apr 04, 2006, 02:14:14 PM
I have a business trip planned for tomorrow.  It is my normal day for visitation.  I've provided BM the required notice to reschedule visitation, however, she claims to have professional obligations herself that will not allow her to care for my child.

This creates a travel dilemma.  Court ordered visitations states that as long as I give 30 days notice, that she should be compliant in the reschedule.  She is NOT.

What she wants me to do is to drop my daughter off at her house at an ungodly hour.

Question is - What if I go to drop my daughter off, and she is NOT home .. nor does she return (which she has done in the past) which means I will miss my business trip.

Any help ??

The visitation order states the only thing that is required is a 30 day notice and list of itinerary and lodging information.

CP ALWAYS trys to put a wrench in things that she doesn't agree with and I think that in this instance I will probably have to go to court to get an emergency injunction.

I've abidied by the 30 day notification rule.

Just makes me nervous AND upset that just because she "says so" she can nix the 5000 dollar vacation that I've so diligently planned for my family and I to enjoy.

I wonde rif in fact she holds back my child from going, could I take her to small claims court to recoup the costs that I've already dished out.

I am the non-custodial father of a 4 year old girl.  I have a visitation order in place that states that I am allowed to take my daughter on vacation as long as I provide 30 days notice to her custodial parent (trifling baby's momma).  My current wife and I are planning a weeks long trip to the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Baby's Momma is attempting to block this vacation saying that it's "too far and dangerous".  I've provided her with the itinerary and lodging information.

Is there anything she can do to block this vacation ?
Is there anything I can do to still go ?

It seems that she always thows up roadblocks just out of spite because I'm married.

HELP !!!

Custody Issues / RE: It can be tempting but
Apr 17, 2006, 08:29:35 AM
Everything IS already spelt out .. dates, times, money issues .. but CP is constantly in contempt of the order and my lawyer does nothing about it ...

CP is just a jealous, vindictive woman who will not be happy unless I allow her to call all the shots ... Which I already have given her several liberties when we wrote up the visitation order.

She does not like my wife and will do anything to make waves in my home.

I'm just ready to give it all up and let her deal alone .. I have no problem continuing to support my child financially.
