Father's Issues / RE: Ex responded to my petition

Good job keeping records. I hope it goes well.

In the court that I do work with here in California, the judge will perceive your action as an attempt to lower child support or harass the mother, depending on what side of the bed he woke up on.

Don't be alarmed, this is just my opinion.

Are you Pro Se or do you counsel?

Sometimes you can overcome the stupidity of the judge simply by having counsel when the other party does not.

The other problem is that here in California, the Courts tend to see the mother as the Primary Caretaker regardless of the amount of time you spend with the children. This effectively shields the mother from repercussions when she doesn't really want the children around that much.

In CA, you still must prove her somehow unfit before they will change custody.

However, you have the burden of change of circumstances, which you have already met.

I hope I'm wrong, Please let me know how it turns out.

You have fought the good fight and stuck to your guns as long as I've known you. Never giving up is what the fight is all about. You and your hubby are wonderful people and I couldn't be happier for you, and now for his daughter who will finally get quality time with her father.

Father's Issues / RETURNING AFTER A LONG ABSENCE
Jul 27, 2006, 08:38:43 PM
Good Evening Radicals, Rascals sand Revolutionaries,

Some here may already know me, or know of me, but most of you will not. I began a fight for my rights as a father when my daughter was merely 14 years old.

In the past 6 years have have fought battles that would baffle your mind. Many eventually became victories, while other battles still loom in the not so distant future.

I tell you this because in order to really know what the plith of fathers are in this battle, you must have lived it or studied it from up close.

I have gone from near postal to passive prisoner in the last 4 years. I live the life of an oppressed father but honestly believe that in the end I will prevail and you may very well too, if you stand your ground and keep your cool.

I wanted to take this time to re-intruduce myself as I may very well be posting here on a semi-regular basis.

Greetings to all and especially My dear Friend Waylon.
