... The morning TV shows "Good Morning America" are well known for the throngs of fans gathered outside the studio windows holding signs telling friends back home hello. Perhaps if a group of NY area SPARC fans showed up with banners proclaiming gender bias in the family courts we could get some air time.  I would suggest showing up with two-sided signs. One side saying "Hello Mom" and when the camera comes on flip it over to reveal the bias message.

[em]This is not a suggestion endorsed by SPARC and is posted here by a totally fictitious character madeup of bits and bytes[/em]

Second Families / RE: off topic, wedding question
Feb 08, 2004, 01:41:38 PM
Asking for money to pay for the honeymoon is very tacky. If they already have a household set up they should put notice on the invitations that gifts are not needed just friends to help celebrate the occasion.

I know I'm just a guy and I grunt and scratch alot, but it seems to me that the purpose of giving houshold gifts as wedding presents would be to help young couples set up their first home since traditionally they are not financially established or as my grandmother so eloquently put it [em]"they don't have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of"[/em].

Also, she should not wear a white wedding dress, unless she can prove that they lived in separate rooms and never bumps uglies in the night...lol

Father's Issues / RE: e-mail hacking?

If a keystroke logger is being used the new password will be easily picked up.  Also, if this type of program is found on the computer, do not remove it.  It is illegal to use these programs on computers that are not owned by the person using the program.  Contact your attorney and use a different computer until the courts or police can examine the computer.

Father's Issues / Update!!!

I finished 10 days of radiation on the right shoulder this week.   This went very well, a little sunburn like reaction, but no major pain or discomfort.   Although the shoulder still hurts some, this I was told  is normal because of the amount of damage done to the bone, I can tell that the tumor in the shoulder diminished in size and I am receiving some mediciation that is designed to rebuild the bone mass.

I was running a fever for the past couple of weeks and they had to delay placing the Port-a-cath, but it was finally accomplished Monday morning and I began 3 consecutive days of chemotherapy on Tuesday.  The good news is that there was no hurling or nausea at all.  The only side effect was that for about 2 hours after treatment, every time I would stand I would get chilled and shake violently.   I quickly learned to stay seated for at least 2 hours after each treatment.  :)   I may be old and slow, but I ain't totally stupid.  hehehe.

Now I wait for a couple of weeks and begin blood tests and then another round of Chemo.

That is all so far.   Thanks for all the prayers and thoughts.

Parkman does not know because I have not been able to have contact with him since July 2003.   We had a motion pending on medical reimbursement issues, but it has been withdrawn citing health problems.  So the EX knows I have health problems but she does not have any specifics.

...who might remember me.

I thought I would touch base with this site since it has always been like a second family to me.

I found out last week that I have cancer in my left lung and it has spread to my right shoulder.   I have no idea at this point how bad it really is, what type of cancer or chances or survival.   I do have ral good health insurance, the company I work for actually makes alot of cancer drugs and anti-side effect drugs all of which will be available to me free of charge if the doctors decide to use them in my treatment.

I go to see two oncologist on June 2nd who will lay out a treatment plan that will surely consist of Chemo and radiation therapy.

Wish me luck

In response to the your statement "I do think that a bi-product of feminism is that women in general no longer have a clearly defined identity.", let me add a quote from Fred Reed on the subject of the modern American woman and her appearance from the male perspective... "...they run from undistinguished to dumpster-casual: baggy jeans, oversize shirts -- often male shirts -- with the tails out. They seem to affect a sort of homeless chic, actually to want to look bad, and do it with more than a touch of androgyny. A high proportion are at least somewhat overweight...."It is enough for me to begin corresponding with a woman in China.
