clothing to only women.  Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think that the author intended to say that only women are battered!  You are I both are reading that one particular line totally different.

When she says that this is a problem for both men and women, I read that to mean that BOTH men and women are battered and this is a problem in this world.

I KNOW that there are women who commit DV everyday!  No one deserves to be abused!

I was just trying to understand where you were coming from.  I like to hear all sides!

Perhaps you should write to her and ask her to explain herself.

I know that there's alot of bias about men when it comes to fatherhood, custody and child support.  I just don't think that this particular letter was intended to be biased.  We are all entitled to our opinion

Father's Issues / The line that says

"domestic abuse is a serious problem for both women and men around the world." shows that the letter was not intended to be biased.

I think that you are making a mountain out of a mole hill!

Father's Issues / I don't think that the letter was biased.

The letter talked about women more because Fashion Bug is a Woman's store.  Did you not read the line (and I quote):

"domestic abuse is a serious problem for both women and men around the world."

Father's Issues / I guess I don't see what you are talking about.

Thanks for listening to me.  I am a CP who gets absolutely no help from the NCP.  He not only doesn't pay CS, but he has nothing to do with our daughter.  Even though he doesn't help out, I still wish that he would be there physically for our daughter.  He is now in prison and has been writing to me often.  He swears that once he gets out, he is going to spend lots of time with our daughter.  Our daughter will be 14 years old by the time he gets out.  My fear is that it's too late!  Our daughter has formed her own opinion of her father since he has ignored her for all of these years (I have been extremely careful over the years not to bad-mouth him - but unfortunately over the years kids start to see things for themselves).  I hope it's not too late!  She REALLY needs her father!  She has needed him for years.  Not sure if SHE would admit that though!

So as you can see, I am all for children's rights to BOTH parents!!!  I support your cause.

Father's Issues / I agree

Equality for our Children ribbons!!!

Father's Issues / Why do you refer to them as NCP ribbons
« on: Feb 03, 2005, 01:07:44 PM »
I am a CP and I would put one of those on my car.  It looks like the ribbon is for parents who want to do right by their children.
