Visitation Issues / Amy

left a message to you on the CS board this morning, but wanted to be sure you knew I have been thinking of you.  I sure miss your thoughts and opinions on the SWB.  I'll have to think over the post before I can offer any insight.

Visitation Issues / In NC

insurance premiums are included in the CS calculation. CS is reduced by a % of the amount of insurance you are paying monthly. If both parents pay, it's just a wash. Our CO states that insurance will be provided by NCP if reasonably priced insurance is available through the employer. Your ex can drop your child of her insurance and use yours, but she would have to pay the out-of-network charges since your insurance does not cover her area.

I wouldn't think you have have to tell her unless it is addressed in the court order.

Custody Issues / This is how it works in NC

if the opposing party requested it, you would receive a letter from the opposing attorney and the court mediation office mandating your attendance at the first mediation session.  If you fail to appear, you can be charged with contempt.  Mediation would take place and then you would receive a copy of what was agreed upon at mediation.  You can sign or not sign the documents.  If oyu sign, an updated parenting agreement is then signed by the judge and entered into record, then a copy is mailed to you.  I'm confused why an order was issued if mediation was ordered.

I don't know the answers to your questions either, but I can tell you that mediation is now mandated in NC in custody cases (finally).  It used to be much harder to get joint custody, but that is not so anymore.  You can get a consent order giving her physical custody with you both having joint legal custody.  CS is based only on the number of days your child would stay with you (greater than 123).  Good luck to you.
