Father's Issues / Just did KRIGHTS
Feb 04, 2005, 06:44:54 PM
WOW!, I jsut did the Krights Radio show, and I have to say it went very well. I hope you all heard me, and could overlook I was a little nervous. I think it went very well and hope to do it again sometime soon.

The ribbons are doing well. Krights has offered to post a link on their front page...very awesome. I kinda felt bad because there were several people who had mentioned doing the ribbon thing before me, so I couldn't exactly take credit for coming up with the idea. I jsut kinda bit the bullet and ran with it. I hope that was the right thing to do..haha.

To date I've got 26 orders, which isn't bad considering I've only been up a day or so. Wouldn't it be nice if I actiualy had to re-order the ribbons? I had been thinking if this thing blows up enough that after I get the money together I need to move I could donate the remainder back into the community.  That would be fantastic.

Take care all.

Father's Issues / Dick Clark's show in the tubes
Feb 04, 2005, 03:06:57 PM
I jsut read that Richard Farr of K-Right's Radio has discovered for certain that dick clark productions WILL NOT be doing any kind of deadbeat dad show. they apparently had thought about it but after the out pouring from the community have decided not to do it.  the following message was from Richard:

In a move of enlighten thinking, understanding and compassion for the families of America. The dick clark production company-DCP acknowledged to Richar' Farr of Krightsradio February 4, 2005 that they (DCP), "No longer had any plans to do a most wanted deadbeat program or any program of the same type and they had no other comments on the subject".

We at Krightsradio would like to say Thank You to dick clark productions-DCP.

The Truth Continues.....

Sincerely,
Chris

Father's Issues / ORDER YOUR RIBBONS NOW
Feb 03, 2005, 11:02:14 AM
To all concerned,

I am writing to let you all know that I am now taking orders for the NCP Rights purple magnetic car ribbons that I have been talking about for at least the last week. I apologize for the delay, but I wanted to make sure they were of the best quality I could and that everyone wanting to order them would have a seamless experience.

The web address for the order site is: http://ncpribbon.blogspot.com/

Please note the ribbons are being produced as we speak and they take 2 weeks or so from start to finish so please allow approximately 4-6 weeks for delivery (to be on the safe side). Also I am not collecting and sales tax for these items. It is the responsibility of the consumer to report any such sales tax required by their state or country. All the information I could think of about the magnets are on the website, but should you need anything at all please feel free to contact me at: [email protected]

If you run a website and would be gracious enough to post a link on your website  I have created a web link button. The html script is:

Or if you prefer you can steal the button from the bottom of the order website, Or if that doesn't work contact me and we can figure something else out.

I can not thank all of you enough for your show of support, kind words, generosity, and willingness to help a complete stranger and his daughter be re united. Thank you so very much.

Sincerely,
Chris Alexander

Father's Issues / Purple Ribbons
Jan 28, 2005, 11:14:33 PM
I had been toying with the idea of making some purple "Father Rights" or " NCP Rights" magentic ribbons for the back of automobiles to help spread the word....these kinds of ribbons sell like crazy down here and I thought that perhaps they might do well in "our" communtiy too. Out of curiousity how many here might be interested in a custom printed purple ribbon to stick onto the back of their vehicles? Also should it say "Fathers Rights" or "NCP Rights"? Anyone have some input? If I see there is enough interest in having these made I'll have them printed up, but I would need at least 100 people or more before I could jsutify doing this. They would most likely sell for $5.00 each due to the cost of printing them.

Is this a good idea or no? I am open to constructive criticism.

Thanks,
Chris

Father's Issues / I'm gonna be on Krights!
Jan 28, 2005, 06:21:53 PM
I got word the other day that Krights online radio : http://www.krightsradio.com/
wants me to be on their live parent alienation show on friday feb. 4th, 2005 sometime between 7pm-9pm. I am pretty excited about this because it is a chance to get out there and tell my story and also perhaps inspire others to become active.
Also I got a call from Torm Howse the man in charge of the class action lawsuit for NCP : http://www.indianacrc.org/
wanting me to take part in a new story a fox station (wxin 59) in Indianapolis is doing on the lawsuit, PAS, and NCP rights. Sadly I got the message a little too late. It's a 3.5 hour drive to Indianapolis from where I live and only 2 hours before the interviews were scheduled.
I will be the county co-ordinator for the lawsuit in my area however. I am hoping I can get more interested in the cause. If not our class (so far only about 20) might get thrown out. Anyone on here that is in Indiana and wishes to get in on the class action lawsuit, it is VERY easy to do. Sign 3 sheets of paper, mail it in and then just sit back wait for the courts to do their thing. To the best of my knowledge nothing else is required. No going to court, testifying, news interviews or anything....unless you wish too. WE jsut need NCP's to step forward and be counted basically. For more info please take another look at the website: http://www.indianacrc.org/ and get in touch with your states co-ordinator, or you can write me and I can lead you in the right directions. [email protected]

Sincerely,
Chris

p.s. don't miss me on KRIGHTS 2/4/05 tell your friends!! =D

Father's Issues / So frustrated
Jan 17, 2005, 04:02:49 PM
It is stuff liek Mr. seate's article on deadbeat dads, and my ex wifes recent power trip, and society's attitude towards divorce, custody, child support, and fahters in general that really just burn me up. I really want to change the minds of the nation about all of it..not to see it the way we do because I do not think they will ever see it that way unless they have lived it...but at least to open the minds of the nation to the plight of non-custodial parents (mothers and fathers) and the way that divorce and custody effect ALL  invloved. If society were to open its eyes to this issue it could change the lives of hundreds of thousands of people. There MUST be a way that we at SPARCS or in the community could get our voices heard. what about public service announcements or talkshows, local media or national newspapers. I have seen several recent articles on the class action lawsuit, but as of yet nothing big or flattering....just like the courts the news media tend to focus on the financial instead of the people. Can we start a letter writing campaign to the news media to get these issues heard, perhaps get more media attention for the class action? is it possible if we get the word out that we can increase our community and our support for our cause? Imagine what it would be like if we could get 86,000 signatures on: http://www.petitiononline.com/usncpr/petition.html
instead of the amazingly low 8,600 we have now? Not that I would want to destroy our forum here, but wouldn't it be so much niocer if the biggest problem someone here faced was what to cook their kids for dinner as opposed to say a child moving halfway across the country or lossing custody? Does anyone have any ideas or input?

I got off the phone with my ex wife and I am SO frustrated with this situation that I could just scream!!! For sometime now I have been saving every penny I can to move to Colorado so I could be near our 9 year old daughter Jessica. Times have been pretty rough and the savings plan has been anything but smooth, but slowly but surely I am making headway. that is until tonight. I had hoped that my ex wife would be senseable enough to make some kind of agreement as to joint physical custody once I get out to Denver because our daughter has been pestering both of us about it. My ex wife however thinks that SHE is the one calling all the shots and unless I kiss her freaking boots, that I have little to no chance of getting this.

I can not afford to go back to court and fight this, especially if I want to have enough money to move out there too. If I fight this in Indiana, thanks to all the conservative closed minded neanderthals who call themselves judges here I have slim to no chance of getting the joint phhysical custody that both I and Jessica want. If I do nothing and opt to go to Denver without an agreement then I will have to go to court there and to be honest I have no idea what to expect fromthe legal system there other then it is not going to be cheap.

What the heck should I do? What would YOU do?

One other question. Indiana law states that a minor child must be 12 before you can leave them alone legallyotherwise it is considered abandonment...Colorado has NO age limit. According to my understanding of the law, my ex wife is required to follow Indiana law so long as I live in Indiana. Does anyone know more about this?

Well, from the looks of it things are rolling along for the Indiana class action lawsuit. I got some more papers from Indianapolis in the mail today. I'm not a lawyer and do not have a very good understanding of the laws pertaining to class action suits, but the way that I read the paperwork it seems that the state is desperately trying to get this case dismissed. Mr Torm Howse the man heading up the Indiana lawsuit (and from what the guy who coordinated with the other states as well) keeps firing back at them with both barrels. I think that the state realizes that this is a battle that it can not win? If anyone knows anymore or if I got it all wrong please let me know...like I said I am no lawyer. Sad thing is that only 20 some odd people got involved in the class action here in Indiana. I can't believe there are that few. Getting the word out about this thing is next to impossible. I really wish there was more that I, and we the non-custodial community could do.

Father's Issues / My website is updated
Jan 06, 2005, 07:16:38 PM
I have recently updated my website complete with the lastest news about my quest to move to Colorado to be with my daughter. The SPARCS administrators have asked that I not post the web link here due to the fact that my website does ask for donations therefore if anyone needs the link please e-mail me at [email protected] and I will gladly pass it on to you.
Thank you again everyone for your support, and I hope that I can be as helpful to you if you should need me.

Sincerely,

Father's Issues / SPIKE TV
Dec 17, 2004, 11:26:48 AM
Saw something on Spike TV the other day that I thought was majorly cool. Bruce Willis is apparently hosting a show on Spike TV spotlighting fathers and their contributions to their familys and children. I forget exactly what the show is titled, but from the promo for the show it looks like something that might be a VERY positive thing....and I don't know about you all but I could really use some positive things right now.

Father's Issues / Lost my job
Dec 14, 2004, 04:13:12 PM
I lost my job today because I wanted to spend my parenting time over the week of Christmas with my daughter. My daughter Jessie is flying in from Colorado to Indiana the weekend before Christmas and I had planned to spend the week with her. Although I started a new job just 3 weeks ago I had notified them of this time during my interview and let them know that I had to have this time in order to accept the position. They offered me the position and in the process "lost" all notes regarding this time off and it being a factor of my taking the job. All of my efforts to fix this situation including offering to work a small amount during that week and take my personal days for the rest were quickly snubbed out. It was today that I discovered the personal responsible for the decisions. A young out of college married woman without children (surprise!).  Buring a discussion with her on this matter I was told that "all of us want to spend the holidays with our family. My parents are in Arizona I would like to see them..." when I pointed out that she had never had to spend thousands of dollars to get a judge to grant you visitation with her parents, and that she had the pleasure of growing up in her parents home for 18 years of her life and that I did not have that luxury with my daughter, and when I pointed out that this was the first time I had been granted parenting time with my daughter in 6 months or that I had not had her for Christmas day in over 3 years. It is truly a very SAD thing to see a company that claims to be family oriented turn their backs on the struggling non custodial parents in their hire. I have no doubts that had I been a single mother there would be 5-6 organizatiosn taht would have sued this company on my behalf had they terminated me for the same reasons.  It is truly a SAD SAD thing

I have required our 9 yuear odl daughter to write 2 letters a week (one to me and one to another family member) since her move to Denver from Indiana last year. Since the move I have recieved perhaps a dozen letters. Being over 1000 miles away I am unable to properly discipline our daughter for not writing, and have had to rely on my ex wife to this task, however she has decided not to. Her logic is that if she forces oyur daughter to write that our daughter will hate her for it. Some brilliant logic there huh?
Anyway our daughter jessie told me this week that she HAS in fact been writing for the last several weeks butthat her mother has not been mailing the letter. Oncemore, I even went so far as to send preaddressed envelopes and stamps to jessie so that she would not have to rely on her mom at all to mail the letters, but apparently my ex wife will not allow Jessie to have these envelopes or stamps...completely defeating the purpose i sent them.  The only thing included in the divorce decree is unlimited e-mail access to Jessie, however that too has been spuratic at best, and has pretty much stopped once again because my ex wife will not enforce or encourage ANY kind of contact between Jessie and I.
Truly how difficult is it to prove this to a conservative judge in southern Indiana? If I file contemp charges will it break me like the oterh court battles did or would it be beneficial to show a court what has been going on? I have complete tape recorded and e-mail documentation...including recorded phone calls in which she even admits to doing this. Anyone have any input?
