Visitation Issues / I'm baaaaack!!!
Aug 28, 2014, 09:15:45 PM
Hi everyone. Well, after several years of reasonable peace, the **it has hit the fan again. I am also helping a friend who has no internet access. First I want to say hi to Kitty, Mixed bag & Ocean, and any of the other old timers. Sure hope y'all haven't forgotten me.
I'll try to bring y'all up to date. Gr8dad is doing well. He has remarried to a winner, finally. She is a nurse & they are so happy. He got transferred to Colorado about 1 1/2 years ago. My SO & I followed them here in February.
Believe it or not, DGD is 22 & stayed in MS. DGS #1 is 21 & went back to TX, & DGS #2, (my baby) is 16 & here in CO. with his dad.
Unfortunately, the wicked witch of the west has managed to get her hooks into #2 & caused a major breakdown. I guess you might say she has completed the set. Now all 3 have been driven into a mental hospital by her bs.
There is so much more I want to share but my Sweetie is in the hospital & I am exhausted from being there all day, everyday. I will be back tomorrow. Hugs to all.

Father's Issues / Info needed
Jul 03, 2012, 08:08:49 AM
Hi to all the old timers. I'm back. Can't post much right now but things are going fairly well for me & mine.
I am helping a friend who is a single mom, lives way out in the woods & being stalked. We have heard some bad things about the guy & want to know the web sites where you can see old criminal records for free, so we know just how bad he really is. If anyone knows, please post. Thanks.

and Judge Dockery Is a waste & has no conscience! After dismissing a Capias warrant & granting a postponement, two weeks ago, Today, Judge Dockery summarily dismissed all motions & charges. The CS enforcement office had filed a motion, on behalf of gr8dad, for an increase of CS. It has never been increased since being figured at minimum wage, in 2002. The PBFH had her free lawyer file for a reduction. Judge dockery added the additional arrearages to the account & told PBFH to start paying.
This means that after 3 months if PBFH hasn't paid, CSE will send her a threatening letter. After 30 days, if she still doesn't pay, CSE files charges in Judge Dockery's court which takes about 4 to 6 months to get a date & then Judge Dockery will do the same thing again, as she has for the last 10 years. It stinks!

Father's Issues / DGD is back home!
Sep 30, 2011, 10:25:59 PM
A life lesson has been learned & now she will back up & regroup. I got a call Monday of last week, from DGD bawling & saying that she had a fight with the guy who convinced her to move back to TX & she wants to come home. She had lots of job apps in place but there is no work. She moved back to a small town with maybe 35 small businesses & a grocery store & about 150 kids that graduated a month before she got there.
The PBFH wants nothing to do with her because she won't come help her with the new baby. Of course she lives about 15 miles away & PBFH threw her out the last time she was there & also won't send her boyfriend to pick her up. I talked to gr8dad & decided DF & I would go Tuesday to get her. Late Monday, she calls & says McDonalds called her & she has an interview on Wednesday. She will be staying.
After the interview, she calls & says she has the job as soon as she takes a 3 hour course & gets a county food handlers card. I call the health dept & find that the course is held on Thursdays & costs $20. I bank in that town so I call & get them to give her $25 so she can take the test & pay someone $5 for gas to take her. She calls back about 3:00 & says the guy has ditched her & she wants to come home. He is threatening her. I put the police on alert & learn that they are very familiar with him. He has a long criminal history & a reputation for abusing women. I called some friends & they went & picked her & her stuff up & took her to their home for the night. We left 4:30 AM, Thursday, drove 12 hours & got her. Left Friday morning & drove 12 hours back home. It has taken us a week to recover. LOL I am 2 dang old for this stuff. She is settled back in with her dad & brothers & glad to be home. She is looking for a job & planning to start college.
As we were leaving town, DF asked her if she wanted to stop by & say good-bye to her mother. She didn't say no, she said, "Hell No!" Hopefully, she has finally figured out the PBFH. Does the drama never end?

The PBFH spent a whole 14 hours in jail. A judge dismissed the warrant "Because she just had a baby". One clerk, when asked why it was dismissed said, "Well, maybe if she hadn't had a c-section..." To which gr8dad responded, "Maybe if she didn't have another kid."
It has been reset for Sept. 15, at which time she will be offered a free lawyer & then it will take about 3 months for a new court date. Then she might get jail time but the baby will be about 4 months old & she is nursing so they won't do anything. Well, it felt good while it lasted. I guess this is another method to avoid paying CS. Just go have another kid. Oh well, I guess this is just another example of justice for fathers in the good old USA.

Father's Issues / This must be Karma!
Aug 25, 2011, 06:08:40 PM
PBFH had a little girl night before last. Poor kid. Today as she checked out & was wheeled out of the hospital, the police were waiting. They took the baby from her arms & gave her to the father & slapped cuffs on her! Yippee. She had an outstanding warrant for failure to pay CS. Her bond is the entire amount she is delinquent & the interest. gr8dad will get it all. It is about $5,000. Her boyfriend immediately called DGD & told her that her dad called the police & had her mother arrested. What a crock. She probably signed up for welfare & they ran her & found it. The bf call gr8dad screaming that it was all his fault & he was stuck with a screaming baby while breakfast lunch & dinner for the baby is in jail.
Really made my day. Yeah, I do like this thing called Karma!

Custody Issues / Default custody question
Jul 29, 2011, 03:33:11 PM
Got a question for a friend. He has a daughter who has severe mental health problems. She has been institutionalized for several years. She had her first major breakdown about 15 years ago. She had 2 kids by 2 different husbands before that. Because of her problems, my friend got custody of the older child, the father did not want him. He was in the process of applying for custody of the younger one who was about 3 at the time because the father was abusive.

One day the father showed up & took the little one & left. He let them visit for a few months, then disappeared. My friend has searched for him for the past 11 years. Every time he finds him, the guy takes off & goes back into hiding with the boy. He found one of the guy's girlfriends & she told him that the boy is abused, some physical & a lot of emotional abuse. He has been told that his grandfather is dead & his mother & brother do not want anything to do with him.

This time, he got a PI to find him & hired a lawyer to file in court on behalf of the mother (my friend is her guardian) for visitation & counseling. When the father was served, he had to go to the courthouse to acknowledge the issue & a court date was set. He did that, acknowledged that he has hidden the boy all these years, & then he took off again. The court date is this coming Tuesday. His lawyer says if he doesn't show up, he will win by default.

I suggested that they ammend the petition to ask for sole custody because the father has repeatedly shown that the father has no intention of fostering a relationship with the boy's mother, brother & grandfather. I think he should request supervised visitation for the father to show his willingness to keep the father involved, in spite of what he has done. Do you think this could be done. The court is in OK. My friend lives in KY. Also he has been a wonderful parent to the older boy, fostering a relationship with his father & doing a great job raising him. He is in college now.

The PBFH has done it again. Got a call from DGD who has recently moved back to the town we moved from. She is 19 & the PBFH has been telling her how much better her life will be if she moves back. DGD didn't tell her she was coming & is staying about 11 miles from the PBFH. This really burned PBFH's bunns. DGD catches a ride into the town where PBFH lives to look for a job. Around 7:00 she stops by to see her & stays till about 10. At 10:00 she tells her that she hasn't been able to catch a ride back so if it is okay, she will crash there & go job hunting again in the morning. PBFH statrs yelling & cussing at her, & tells her that since she is no longer on visitation, she will not stay there & to get out.
That witch put her out in a very rough neighborhood at 10:00 at night. She walked to a gas station & kept calling everyone she knew till she finally begged someone to come get her. I know I am wrong but I really hope we get a call next month saying she died in childbirth. I am not a person to wish evil on anyone but I am feeling like the baby will definitely be better off without her, & the other kids will really be better off.
Incidentally, DGS#2 came home from summer visitation with ringworm all over, from head to toe. She took him to the ER, causing my DS a huge co-pay & then went to the pharmacy & bought over the counter stuff that still hasn't cleared it.
I am just so tired of the BS & emotional pain. I gave him $10 when he went. She had him use it to buy a fathers day gift for her boyfriend. I asked him what he bought for his dad & he said he would tell me later. He told me that she said to tell us that she helped pay for his dad's gift. I asked what it was & he told me that she said to tell us that he was giving him his good health. I asked how she helped pay for that & he said that it was because she bought the stuff for his ringworm.
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!! 5 more years, 5 more years!!!!!

Visitation Issues / Screwed 'em again!
May 24, 2011, 05:14:33 AM
Well, the graduation war is over & as usual, the kids lost. She called Around 11AM Friday & said they were about 150 miles from their house. Kids told her they didn't think she would make it cuz they still had close to 600 miles to go & the graduation started at 7PM. She assured them that they were making great time & would be there.

The graduation went well. DGD was so beautiful & her smile lit up the room. DGS#1 was so handsome & tall. There is a short video on my facebook page, if anyone wants to see it. I don't know if I can put it on here.

The pbfh & her boyfriend rolled into gr8dad's front yard at 9:30PM. Walked in & said hardly a word. No apology, no hugs or greetings for the kids, nothing. Just kinda stood there with a look like, we're here. I still can't wrap my head around that. She hadn't seen them since Christmas. I would have been so all over them. It was so obvious that she had no intention of being at the graduation. She was wearing a pair of sweats & a ratty T-shirt & her hair was nasty.

So why did she even come? We think that one of the big kids told her that if she didn't gr8dad was not going to send DGS#2 unless she paid for a ticket or started paying her CS. gr8dad let that slip in hopes of getting her to the graduation for the kids sake. They stood in the kitchen, leaning on the counter, refused the party fixins, & rolled out at about 11PM to start the 700+ mile trip home. Never thought she would come, skipping graduation, grab DGS#2 & leave.

DGS#2 has a cell phone & was told all about dealing with emergencies. We decided not to inform the police about her boyfriend's parole violation of leaving the county or the outstanding warrant on her cuz as rotten as she is, we still didn't want DGS#2 to be involved with their arrest. So, the end of June, we will make the trek accross the country to go get him. In the mean time, we will pray that he is safe & reasonably happy. Then it will be back to business as usual, doing damage control to undue all the garbage she will have fed him for the month. The biggest thing will be to undue all the BS she will have preached about how unnecessary school is. Then it will be back to waiting for her to start some more $h!+.

Somehow they arrived home safely, although it was after 3PM Saturday. They should have made it by noon or 1PM, driving the speed limit. We were so worried. DGS#2's cell had died so we weren't getting any response from him. She didn't answer, either. We heard from them, just as gr8dad was about to call the state police. It turned out that they had decided to stop & visit her boyfriend's kids for a couple of hours.

I am pretty sure he was on something. He was twitching & made several trips out to the car in the hour & a half they were there. She did meth while preggo with DGS#2 so it wouldn't surprise me if she was still doing it. Why should this pregnancy be any different from the others.

Well, enough of this rant. Gotta get back to the normal insanity. DGD will be staying here. DGS#1 will have surgery on his shoulder, Thursday, to repair injury from a wreck back in March. Me, I will try to help gr8dad recover from the war & endure the wait till DGS#2 comes home, while trying to have a life with my fiance. Yeah, I guess it will just be insanity as usual. LOL

Thanks to all for all the advice & prayers through the war. I try to remember all of you in my daily prayers & pray that all have an easier road to travel than we have had. Good luck & God bless all.

Well gr8dad has outdone himself. the pbfh is leaving TX Thursday evening, driving all night & will arrive sometime friday morning. She plans to attend the graduation & leave immediately to go back. Figuring they don't want to spring for a motel & his concern for his son riding back with them led him to offer to pay for a motel room so they can rest & get a fresh start Saturday morning. She flat out turned him down, saying that she had to get right back.

We don't know how she plans to make 2 twelve hour drives & attend a graduation in about 36 hours with no rest. It is scary. Does anyone know if that would be grounds to withhold DGS#2? Oh well, keep the prayers & good wishes headed our way, Thanks.

Night before last, DGD tells gr8dad that she doesn't know what to do. New boyfriend is looking good & she isn't sure if she wants to go.He repeats her choices & she says she will think about it. Yesterday, she texts her mother & tells her that she is going to stay here for the month of June & see what developes with new BF. Pbfh goes ballistic & starts to cuss her & tell her she should be ashamed of her self for being 19 & not having graduated HS yet. DGD graduates this Friday & pbfh is 37 & never finished 9th grade. Obviously pbfh has plans to use DGD & this will foul it up. LOL

We told DGD that she should realize that this is a sample of what she can expect whenever she doesn't go along with pbfh. DGD says that she thinks we are right. This means she will be staying at least till the end of June & hopefully won't go at all. Also, hopefully, pbfh is angry enough to not show up.

We have met the new boyfriend & he seems like a fine young man. Has a good job & owns his own home. We shall see what developes. We aren't pushing it but are sure glad he turned up. LOL

Ocean...We won't report her here cuz she will tell the kids it is all our fault. It will be much better if she gets picked on a routine vehicle check, several hundred miles from here. Besides we sure as heck don't want her stuck here. LOL

I guess all the prayers & good wishes are helping. Thanks, please keep them coming.

Visitation Issues / Update on the graduation war
May 11, 2011, 05:37:37 AM
Nine days & counting. There is hope. Yesterday DGD announced that she has a new boyfriend & doesn't know what to do. "He is so special". LOL  Gr8dad told her to go & just take enough for summer visit, if pbfh shows up, & if she wants to come back she can when we go pick up DGS#2.  We will bring the rest when we come. Then I suggested that she stay & if the new boyfriend doesn't work out, she can move when we go for pick up. Either way, her mother's influence is fading in the glow of love. :) Aint't love grand!
PBFH will be wild when she finds out. Oh, that's a nice feeling. If pbfh does show up, I am considering doing my civic duty & when they leave, call the TX state police & inform them of the vehicle discription, tag number & the facts that the vehicle is not registered & has no ins., & that one person is on probation & is not permitted to leave the county & the other has a warrant out for failure to appear. Would that be evil? It feels kinda good in an evil sort of way. Hehehe I just need to figure out how to do it without it being linked to us.
Kitty, you're right, these kids are pros at handling disappointment & BS. I know they are all very angry over the pregnancy. DGD told her that she felt sorry for the kid, having her for a mother. Thanks for the good wishes. I hope all will, please, keep all of us in your prayers. Thanks

Hi everyone, It's been awhile but my thoughts & prayers are always with y'all.
Well, it doesn't seem possible but 10 years have passed since this mess began. DGD & DGS#1 will both graduate in 13 days. Thank God :) The old timers here know the crap the pbfh has put us through. Long story short, she has ODD, & multiple undiagnosed psychiatric issues. She has gone as long as 2 years without seeing or talking to the kids when we lived 11 miles away. Now that we are 10 hours away, she calls & tells them how much she misses them & how horrible their dad is for taking them so far away from her. (his job transfered him) Her CS is figured at minium wage from 2002. She rarely pays because she rarely works. He has never persued it. She often tells the kids that their dad doesn't want them. He only took them so he could get the CS.

At the time of his transfer, she was under a very restricted visitation order, due to abuse, 3 hours a week on Saturday afternoons, which she rarely used. He didn't go to court to change anything, just switched to standard LD visitation. She has screwed that up too. Now comes the problem. She has convinced DGD to not go to college here but to come back to TX & live with her. DGD has decided to do it. To top everything off, pbfh is prego. She is supposed to come for graduation & take DGD back with her. She will also take DGS#2 back for his month of summer visitation. DGS#1 has a job & will stay here. My son has told her that if she disappoints them, he will not send DGS#2, who is 13, there anymore. If she wants to see him, she will have to come here or send money for plane ticket or pay her CS. He doesn't have to send the older 2 anymore.

We think she is setting up to tell the kids that the doctor won't let her make the trip. She is about 4.5 months prego & last week told them that she had to go to a dr. 150 miles away & he said there is a problem with the baby. We don't believe her. She is on medicaid & they aren't gonna send her that far unless there was a critical issue. She lives in a big city with many excellant doctors & hospitals. She has treated each of her pregnancies like a critical disease rather than a condition.

She has always been anti education & tried from the time DGD turned 15 to convince her to quit school, that it isn't important. She also tried it with DGS#1, who she kidnapped, once. We have fought hard to get them to graduation. When they came home from Christmas visitation, DGS#2 told us that he doesn't want to graduate, that school isn't important & that he plans to drop out as soon as he can. I guess she decided to start earlier with him.

I don't know if anyone has any input but it is welcome. I guess we mainly needs lots of prayers & good thoughts sent this way over the next 2 weeks.

Visitation Issues / Problem solved
Feb 26, 2011, 11:19:52 AM
I guess there will be no problem with holding spring break after all. It is not a good thing but will eliminate the issue. DGS#2 is pretty sick & will not be well enough even by then to make the 12 hour trip. Sept of '09, he got a very bad case of swine flu. It really trashed his immune system. Since then he has caught any & everything he has been unknowingly exposed to. Recently he developed a large lump on the side of his neck. We took him to the dr & they said they thought he had cat scratch fever. Reasonable since they have two 7 month old kittens. They did a bunch of blood work & when it came back, the doc said he is literally a fly tape for disease. He has Mono, Human Parvo Virus, something called CMV (I think), don't know what that is. And the lump is a staff infection in his gland. Also the cat scratch fever.
Poor little guy. He is allowed to go to school but no PE, sports, or anything strenuous. He must take a nap after school & go to the nurse & lay down if he feels bad. He is on high doses of antibiotics for a month & if lump has not gone down, they will surgically drain it. He had just had his first Jarate compitition & placed in 2 categories. Now no Karate till he is all better. Rough on a 12 year old. We are also giving him yogurt as a med, that is 2 tablespoons 3 times daily to help rebuild him, along with a bunch of vitamins.
Please keep him in your prayers. I'll keep y'all posted.

Father's Issues / Karma At Last
Feb 22, 2011, 03:47:05 PM
After all these years, gr8dad may finally get a fair shake! He just got word that pbfh didn't show up at her CS delinquency hearing today. After years of total lieniency & consideration by the court, she really blew it. When she didn't show, the judge immediately issued a bench warrant for her arrest. Her bail is to be her total arrearage. I'm not sure how much it is but it is way over $5,000.That Karma sure can put a smile on ones face!!!   Oh yeah, she is pregnant.

Visitation Issues / Withholding visitation
Feb 05, 2011, 11:11:41 AM
Hi Kitty & all,

Here we go again. I know that CS & Visitation are 2 different issues but sometimes they cross. Pbfh has not paid 1 cent of child support in nearly 2 years. CS is figured on minimum wage in 2004, I think. She is currently thousands in arrears. Gr8dad was transferred in August of 09. He has taken them back 3 or 4 times for visitation. She has continued to cause grief, playing with their heads as usual.

The current visitation order is from when we lived near her. It gives her 3 hours a week on Saturday afternoon. 90% of the time she didn't show up for that. When we moved He started to do routine long distance visitation. They were there for Christmas. She wants them for Spring Break. She got them last years Spring Break.

Gr8dad doesn't have enough money to send them. He plans to tell her that if she sends 2 months CS, he will use it to send them. It seems more than fair to me but I don't want him to get in trouble. Her CS for 3 kids is $200 a month plus $70 towards arrearages. Pretty pathetic, huh? DGS#1 is a power lifter & it costs more than that to feed him for a month. LOL

This is the last year gr8dad has to send the 2 oldest. They will graduate HS in May. DGD got a Softball Scholarship to college & at Christmas PBFH convinced her to turn it down & move there with her after graduation. Fortunately gr8dad was able to talk sense into her after she got home.

Any info or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. We live in MS now but old order is in TX.

Hope this finds all my old friends well & enjoying their kidletts. Hugs to all.

Father's Issues / Same old stuff, another year
Sep 05, 2009, 02:33:29 AM
Hello my old friends & new ones!

Well, the drama continues, just with new fuel & a new state. I am not sure how much detail I can put in right now because I am having a hard time staying awake. I am only up because I am afraid that DGS#1 is going to run again. I pray that he doesn't but he is so unpredictable right now. The oldtimers may remember our tale of woe (most of it revolved around DGD) but I will try to recap for the others.

My son, gr8dad, has full custody & sole conservetorship of his 3 kids. This is due to the fact that their mother uses drugs, severely abused the kids, & is generally a waste of humanity. She plays with their heads & causes lots of problems. He seems to be drawn to the wrong type of woman.

His second wife turned out to be an excellant actress. He brought her & her 5 kids into his home & 3 years later married her. He fully supported her & them,(their father doesn't pay CS) along with his own kids, & tried his best to build a blended family. To make a long story short, as soon as she got the ring on her finger, everything changed & things went downhill from there. After about 2 years, she cleaned him out, packed up her kids & disappeared. This added to the emotional trauma for his kids. That was 2 years ago.

Racing forward to the present: This spring DGD, now 17, seemed to finally see through her mother's bull & told her so. She immediately turned her attention to DGS#1, now 16. She had completely rejected him for the past 9 years because he looks exactly his dad. He had come to accept her treatment & when she started to treat him better, he was thrilled. She kidnapped him & he went willingly. Then she reverted back to her old ways when we found him with her.

She made several malicious charges to CPS & they charged her for it. He had a breakdown & wound up a residential facility. He is medicated & seemed to be doing pretty good, all things considered. He progressed to a day program & was finally discharged on meds.

In the meantime, gr8dad got short notice that he was going to be laid off. He was given the option of a job in MS & so here we are. The PBFH handled the move better than we expected. The CO gives gr8dad the right to relocate for employment.

Anyway, now DGS#1 refused his meds all day & by bed time, he was completely out of control. He exploded & said he was leaving. He ran out the door. gr8dad followed him & caught him The police came & we got him settled down & his night meds in him.
gr8dad is distraught. He doesn't know where to turn. I suggested he come back here & see if anyone has any suggestions. He says no one can help. He is so totally overwhelmed. He is settling into a new job, trying to be supportive of the kids in a new school with a different cultural environment & just completed his associates degree. His stress level is off the charts.

I guess I don't have any real questions except if anyone has any experience dealing with screwed up teenagers & can offer ideas, they will be appreciated. I am just so worried about gr8dad & the kids & I don't know where to turn.

Child Support Issues / One for the books...
Apr 12, 2005, 05:08:02 PM
I heard this from one of the pt's where I am having therapy. Her son married a woman with a few kids. Her ex is a druggie & won't work.

They went to court for CS & the judge told them that since this guy has never paid & probably never will, he was vacating the CS order because she & her husband made enough to support them & the court was too backed up.

This was in Houston.  Go figure.    I gave her this site info & told her to give it to her son.

You never get a second chance to make a first impression!

Dear Socrateaser / Removing judge...URGENT!!!
May 17, 2004, 04:51:57 PM
Dear Soc,

First, thanks for all you do. This takes place in Wichita County, Texas.

I don't know if you remember anything about what my son went through with the blonde idiot judge who was totally prejudiced against my son. She put numerous sanctions on his ex & never enforced any of them.

It was only when my son's attorney requested that there be a stipulation that if she did not comply with the order to complete Battery Intervention classes, & Anger Management classes, visitation would cease until the orders were completed.

The Battery Intervention was ordered nearly 3 years ago & the Anger Management was ordered over 2 years ago. Today, she showed up at the school demanding that she see her children. She claimed that she had an order that allowed it but couldn't produce it.

She did produce an order from the judge stating that her visitation would resume on Saturday. My son went down to his lawyers but he wasn't in & can't see him for more than a week.

He then went to the judge's office & ask her what was going on. He tried to show her a letter from the childrens therapist stating that there needed to be reunification counseling followed by supervised visitation.

She said that she could not look at it because he had an attorney so everything has to be filed by the attorney, with the court before she can look at it.

My son said that according to the paperwork, she had not completed the courses that had been ordered. The judge said that she knew that but she had taken a similar one & then some additional  classes at the same place & she felt that would be okay.

My son asked why his ex could come in & get what she wanted but he could only send things through his lawyer. The judge stated that since his ex was pro se, she could come in & talk to the judge any time she wanted to.

His ex has told the children that she will come at night & take them away from here. She has told their 12 year old daughter that it is her job to break daddy & his fiance up so she can get back with him.

Recently, in violation of the no-contact order, she told her to be as bad as she can be because then her dad will get disgusted with her & send her back to her mother. The therapist assured her that it wouldn't happen. That if she was so bad her dad couldn't handle her, she would be placed in a juvenile facility.

The child believes her mother & is failing 6th grade & is a constant discipline problem, both at school & at home.

We have felt from the very begining that this judge is prejudiced against fathers & does not have the childrens best interest in mind. My son has   tried to follow the letter of the law. His ex breaks all the rules & gets treated like a victim.

1. Can a judge be removed for prejudice & putting the children at risk?
Or perhaps for failing to uphold her own orders? If so, how can
     he do it?

2. Can a judge issue a custody order, changing the original order,
     without contacting the custodial parent.

3. Could this be done pro se since our lawyer isn't available?

4. Could he withhold the children until his attorney is available,
using the therapist's letter as just cause?

5. Do you have any other suggestions or input? It will be welcomed.

General Issues / I'm Baaaaack

Just wanted to say hi to all the old timers. I haven't been around for awhile. Things are about the same in our world, just a different day. All the kids are getting big & somehow surviving inspite of their PBFH mother. We just never know what will happen next. The only new thing is that she has started to play with the little guy's head. He just turned 9 & has been sheltered from most of her $h1t so he is very vulnerable to her garbage.
Well, I hope all are well & many have made progress in their battles. Good luck & God bless

Well, my dear friends, after 4 surgeries in 13 months, I am faced with the biggie. I have to decide whether I want to walk or eat. They discovered a very serious spinal problem that requires surgery in the near future, preferably 6 months or less.

I am already spending too much time in a wheel chair & becoming slightly incontinent. I must loose 50 to 75 lbs in order for the surgery to be successful. My doctors have come to the conclusion that barriatric surgery is the only real answer.

The problem is that I am really scared & I hate the thought that I will never eat another normal meal in my life. I know that I have to do this but I sure don't want to.

Anyway, keep me in your prayers. the Surgery is scheduled for February 27.

God bless you all for all the help you all give so many people everyday.

General Issues / O T but maybe someone knows.....

My friend lives in KY. His daughter is seriously mentally ill. She was missing for a few years. He located her in TX & she was in a state hospital. When she was discharged, he was able to get her moved to a hospital in KY.

After a few days, they told him they would be releasing her & he had to arrange for her to have a place to live. He & her brother rented her an apartment & furnished it. They also put up the deposits for the utilities & the phone.

She lived in the apt. for about 10 days & then had another episode & had to be hospitalized again, where she remains. They have been continuing to pay for the apt. It has used up all their savings. They are trying to sublet the apt to get out from under it.

Now. this hospital states that they are getting ready to discharge her to an assisted living facility but somebody is going to have to agree to pay about $35 a day for her to live there. Otherwise she will just be discharged to the street.

They cannot bring her to live with them. They are already raising her son & she has a long history of violence when she has an episode. Their lives would be in danger.

She has an application open for SSI but it has not been approved yet. I guess what he wants to know is, can they force him to support her? She is 31. He lives on SSD & some CS from the boy's father.

Can they just put her out on the street, knowing that she is unable to care for herself? Somehow, it just doesn't seem right.

I'm grateful for any info that anyone might have. Thanks.

General Issues / More prayers needed!!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone. Well, here I am again. Back in rehab & not doing as well as I expected to. I went in on June 8 to have a total knee replacement. Surgery went well & my recovery was going great & way ahead of schedule. I was supposed to be home yesterday & walking great.

But as those of you, who have known me for a while, know, I always do everything the hard way. Saturday morning as I was sleeping through still another two hour session in the CPM machine (lovingly refered to as the torture chamber by the patients) something went haywire. The CPM is a machine that takes your leg from a negitive straight extension to an ever increasing degree of flexion. They increase the degree every day.

Anyway, I got a very rude awaking when somehow the machine fell off the bed while my leg was still strapped in it. Thank God that the surgery was not damaged. Of course, I have a very badly sprained knee & ankle, Now I have to start trying to walk all over again. For some reason it hurts a lot worse & is much harder to move than it was right after the surgery. I guess I will be here for at least another week or more.

On the good side, I got a new puter sitting at home waiting on me so I will be able to hang out here more often. Anyway, hugs to everyone & please keep me in your prayers so that I can get out & going again.

General Issues / My friend needs prayers
May 04, 2005, 01:50:39 PM
The following is a prayer request from my very best friend. He is raising his daughter's 15 year old son. He has been searching for his daughter for so long.

Now that he has found her, in a mental hospital in south TX, he is trying to get her transfered back to KY. When she is on her meds, she is fine but she needs someone to monitor  her, otherwise, she goes off & either gets arrested or lives on the street.

 Tom's request:

Please pray for my daughter's imminent return to Kentucky to be close to her family. It looks like we will be able to do that this month.

She has faithfully struggled to be close to God since she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior (about 1988), despite a serious mental disorder. Now with advanced medicine and techniques, she is able to cope with those problems and is ready to return to college & work. We are trying to obtain housing and help for her now, in Kentucky. It will be the first time she hasn't been homeless or incarcerated since 1998.

Please pray fervently for her, Elizabeth Laskey, traveling safety and adjustment to a new stable life. God hears our prayers. I am thankful that I can ask you to join me in prayer.

Thank you. May God bless you.

GONNA BE A BEAR

In this life I'm a woman.
In my next life, I'd like to come back as a
      bear.
When you're a bear, you get to hibernate.
You do nothing but sleep for six months.
      I could deal with that.

Before you hibernate, you're supposed to eat
      yourself stupid.
I could deal with that, too.

When you're a girl bear, you birth your children
(who are the size of walnuts) while you're
sleeping and wake up to partially grown, cute, cuddly
      cubs.
I could definitely deal with that.

If you're a mama bear, everyone knows you mean
business. You swat anyone who bothers your cubs.
If your cubs get out of line, you swat them, too.
      I could deal with that.

If you're a bear, your mate expects that you
wake up growling. He expects that you will have hairy
      legs and excess body fat.

      Yup, gonna be a bear!

I am home again & feeling much better. I hope this holiday finds you all well. Thanks again for all the prayers & good wishes. It sure helped.

Please pray for our kids. The pbfh called this eveing & said she has decided not to see them even though it is her time & she was supposed to get 3 extra hours for missing last week while they were away.

Gr8Dad isn't gonna tell them. He told her that she has to call & tell them herself. If she doesn't call by the time they are to go, he will tell them. No sense spoiling the whole day.

I think it is worth following up on.

It has come to my attention, in a story found here http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=492&e=19&u=/ap/movie_canceled that the FCC refused to give a waver to ABC to show the movie "Saving Private Ryan" in tribute to our brave veterans on this Veterans Day.  I think we should all send a letter of complaint to them letting them know how we feel.  The address is [email protected] .  Lets see if they will listen to the people that they are trying to protect.

>Here is a copy of the letter I sent:

"I read recently that the some ABC network affiliates are refusing to air "Saving Private Ryan" due to concerns that they will receive sanctions from the FCC.  It also stated that the FCC refused to state whether or not this showing would constitute a violation of FCC policy.  Now, it seems that refusing to tell a station whether or not it would be violating the rules is downright wrong.  Unlike Mr. Bono's obscenity during the Golden Globe, and Ms. Jackson's instance of nudity, this movie portrays real life events and the "F" word is not used to insult or convey vulgarity.

My father and step father were Vietnam veterans, and we have an ever decreasing number of WW2 veterans to whom this movie is a testament to that fact that a generation in this country literally saved the world.

I wish to express my displeasure that a government agency that exists only because of these brave men would seek to sanction a program that honors them so."

General Issues / Is it just me or..........

are others really annoyed by the "annoying cell phone guy" ad? I understand the need for ads but this one just goes too far. It rang constantly for over 5 minutes while I was trying to write a post. The only thing that ad does is convince me that I will not even look at what they are selling.

Admin, can we do anything about that? Pleeeeeeease!!!!!

Got a suggestion for you.

Once again, today, I was talking to someone who was telling me of their troubles in family court. I told them about SPARC & then dug into my purse for a scrap of paper to write the web site address on. I got to thinking that it might be a good idea if Ya'll designed a business card that we could download & print.

It could look good & say it all. Folks could print it on paper & cut them up or those who chose to, could buy business card stock at walmart & print real cards.  I think it would make a real good impression on the folks we are talking to & be easy to hand out.

Whadda think?
