Father's Issues / Re: dwayne wade wins custody

"This court finds that [Siohvaughn Wade] has embarked on an unstoppable and relentless pattern of conduct for over two years to alienate the children from their father, and lacks either the ability or the willingness to facilitate, let alone encourage, a close and continuing relationship between them," read a portion of the ruling entered by Judge Renee G. Goldfarb.

I think that part is crucial.  Also his response to it has been classy.

never followed basketball but I have a new hero!
That said, with his money I could prevail too, I think.
Id like to think that lodging false abuse claims hurt her case too.

Wait til you get the Forensic Accountant threat. Just remember, the lawyer is on the clock and she will pay hourly for that stunt that got them nothing. chin up, two more days!

Custody Issues / Re: new here, need advice

any way you can demand, via your lawyer, a copy of that letter stating youre not to be included in counseling?
...lawyers have a funny way of asking that gets results we cant seem to obtain.
and, since Im in a similar boat, I hope youre mistaken about tangible refusals to co-parent, my lawyer certainly thinks they are not small things. Document ANY way you can.
Also, from all Ive been told here in PA, judges hate to change school districts, a definite plus!

That sounds like you should forward the note from doctor to lawyer. Good Luck.

Quick relative story: Before Vacation, daughter (10) tells me she wants a bikini. Obviously the answer is no. mom, of course, says its ok and ought to be with me too. Long and short, tankini is the compromise; or so I thought. We get to the beachouse and I unpack us...low and behold mom has given her an Ed Hardy tattoo design string bikini. I ask daughter and she says "mom says youre wrong, and I can wear that"
I quietly put the bikini in a fed ex envelope and return to mom.
use the quiet "clint eastwood' voice to explain that if thats the case, wear it at mom's when you get back there.
Bottom Line (or at least for me): What the other parent permits or criticizes does not alter my moral compass. Im the parent, I take the time to think about whats best for the child, not what scores a point or satisfies them right now.
Same for you. This fellow has no legal standing as a parent, quite the opposite it seems. As long as you can look inside and say you make the choice for them and not your baggage, DO whats best for them. Im told they thank you for it someday in the future (though at the moment I cannot vouche for that)

How old are these girls? If youre dealing with girls under, say, 16, I'd be very blunt and tell them you do not permit this contact, youre the parent and youre doing whats best. Your eyes are on their longterm welfare.  If the contact continues, the phone goes. The reason I mentioned 16 was because at a certain point, to save face, the child will then go to any lengths to contradict you, a behavior that peaks between 16 and 19.
Youre the parent, this fellow isnt, do whats right for your child.

Father's Issues / The Moment You Knew....

Maybe I need catharsis or levity but here goes:
What was the exact moment at which you realized that if you had this much going for you, all these facts, all this anecdotal and solid evidence of a better, more wholesome atmosphere, all the sturdy evidence of the lack thereof on the other side, you wouldnt lose a moment's sleep over custody if you only werent a man?
On the scales of justice, ovaries are, it seems, very heavy indeed.

Sadly, Im in the same boat with an ex who has violated custody by taking children to her LSW therapist and enjoining kids to keep visits a secret. This is a very murky relationship and obviously, proper invitations are never forthcoming.
What I CAN tell you is to get the police involved the First DAY you are denied custody time. My Local PD took one look at the custody order, called her and informed her to bring them to me at the station or they would arrive at her house to get them..NO wiggle room. And best of all, next day I get a fresh copy of the report to bring to evaluator and court. Playing games with custody, Im told, is not popular with judges. And dont worry about if she prods the kids to say they do not want to be with you. As long as you can prove youve done nothing to earn that enmity, it looks like someone is manipulating them, which it sounds like from your posts.

I can tell you that allegations of any kind of abuse are taken seriously as they should be. BUT, Ive also witnessed firsthand that there are plenty of people who work at CPS who know they are used as a way of meteing out vengance and anger. A supervisor at an interview I had explained " we are up next to L&I and animal control as county offices used by people to achieve a means on the cheap"
Get the book "divorce poison", if nothing else it will help you make the right choices in terms of how you respond to all this.
