As I am sure all you ladies are aware, "move-away" issues are becoming an extrememly hot topic in courtrooms across and if you don't think it effects you because it is only custodial "moms" that are fighting to move, think again...you know as well as I do that the courts make no distinction between non-custodial "moms" or non-custodial "dads", so you can bet that there will be NO distinction when it comes to the CUSTODIAL PARENT'S "right" to move with the children.

Even though we as non-custodial mothers only make up a small percentage of  non-custodial parents, I think that it is EXTREMELY important that our voices are heard since the majority of the support to allow custodial mothers to move comes from WOMEN'S groups.

Right now, before the California Legistrator is a bill, SB 730, that would effectively detroy the recent  LaMusga decision.

Explain that you oppose SB 730 and that you are opposed to unrestricted move-aways.  Be polite, but let the legislators and the Governor know EXACTLY how you feel.

Thanks for that info...

I am CP to my youngest son from my second marriage.  I stayed in this area so my son could have benefit of both parents in his life. It hasn't been easy and the job market just plain sucks here right now.  There have been a few offers for jobs for me in other areas, but each time, I think about how hard it would be on my son to be away from Dad....

I can't do it.  I know how hard it is for me to be 3000 miles away from my 15 year old.
