I'm concerned about my childs mental health, I suspect clinical depression.  He's on summer visitation with me, and lives the rest of the year at his moms.
Can I get him checked out by a local psychologist without her consent?

wendl

Depends alot on how your court order reads.

What does your order say.

**These are my opinions, they are not legal advice**

I would think that if you have joint custody that you should be able to.

Zuntzu

No, my ex has full legal and physical custody.
I just have summer visitation.

My Ex has full medical coverage for my child as well.
Do I pay for the tests myself, or would her medical insurance pay for it without prior consultation?

joni

This may be a problem with you since you have no legal rights (aka mom's got sole custody) with regards to your own child.   Great little invention of family court eh?  Stripping a parent of their legal rights?

Anyway...post your question on the Dear Socrateaser forum and ask him for his legal advice.

Zuntzu

Thanks for the suggestion, will do.

I couldn't really figure out where to post, as I'm still pretty new to forum boards.

flewwellin

I don't think that her medical insurance will pay for it.  It'll likely come out of your pocket.
