I am sorry if I sound like a person who only cares about money.  If my sons apply for monetary assistance from the government, would he put the custodial parent's income or the non-custodial parent or both or the custodial income with the child support amount.

I ask this because I am trying to give myself some justification for the enourmous child support.

It seems unfair that the custodial parent gets the child support money and the non-custodial parent has to pay the tax.

MixedBag

For federal pell grants, the child puts the income of the parent with whom they are living and the STEP PARENT (yep, believe it or not!) and all their information.

The federal government wants the information from the family the child is living with -- not the two biological children combined.

And part of that application will as IF the parent is receiving Child Support -- and of course, what you are paying goes in that spot.
