Title: Who pays
Post by: MYSONSDAD on Jan 14, 2004, 06:40:14 PM
My trial begins in a few weeks and the depositions are underway.

Who pays for the professionals who are on the list to come in and be deposed?

They would be for my benefit, but the ex attorney is having them come in.

How for your benefit?

Usually a person has to sophena(sp?) witnesses to come to trial, if your ex did that then she has to pay for it.

If the other side calls them as a witness for court or deposition, then they pay.  My guess is they are expecting you to call them to court, and want to deposition them prior to find out what they are going to say to help you so they can somehow make them look bad or find an excuse for the other side.

So, unless your side calls them, don't sweat it.  They pay the bill.  I am guessing you will call these people for court, in which you will be responsible.
