If you get an emails from anyone that has CONFIDENTIAL at the top of the email is it illegal to post that email elsewhere for opinions or show it to anyone else?

Not illegal, but, the person could potentially sue you civilly if your republishing the email caused them actual damages. False light is the publication of negative attributions regarding a person, such that a reasonable person would find such attributions offensive.

Unlike defamation, the published information can be true, and if the person is injured because they are cast in a false light as a result, then they can obtain damages.

This is a very tough case to prove, so as a general rule, unless what your're publishing is really ugly, then you're probably safe.
