Title: wanted to share
Post by: skye on Dec 06, 2004, 08:41:02 PM
A little girl needs Daddy
For many, many things:
Like holding her high off the ground
Where the sunlight sings!

Like being the deep music
That tells her all is right
When she awakens frantic with
The terrors of the night.

Like being the great mountain
That rises in her heart
And shows her how she might get home
When all else falls apart.

Like giving her the love
That is her sea and air,
So diving deep or soaring high
She'll always find him there.

Nice, did you write this?

I printed your poem to hang up.  I made one small change, making to poem gender a male.

My son (5 yrs) checks my room through out the night to make sure I'm there.  Numerous times I have wakened up in the morning to find my son sleeping in my bed.  At his mom's house I understand he has never gotten up and went into her room to sleep. (perhaps once, a year or two ago during a large storm)

Your poem hit an emotional cord with my heart.  I have it hanging at my desk at work.

Unfortunately because of mom's alienation my son is very clingy.  During our companionship time no matter where I go he is there.  He's afraid I am not coming back.

Mom pulled some very, evil - vial games when the divorce was in progress.

I got the same clinging going on, you hit the nail on the head, he's afraid I am not coming back. I get the same feeling with my son, if he falls asleep, I might not be there...

wow
