Title: Probably not the most tactful question....
Post by: Yngsmommy on Mar 14, 2004, 11:38:28 PM
BM owes about 10K in back support right now.

We asked CSEA to get her tax return, which theoretically they are doing....

Is there anyway to actually verify that they are taking her tax refund?

BTW we are in CA.

In Michigan, the agency automatically liens the potential income tax refunds.  When we had an arrearage, we received a notice every 90 days that we had been reported to the IRS, DMV, blah, blah, blah.  And they sucked away our IRS refund as promised.  I'm not sure that the BM received any similar notice of what they did to us.

I don't believe anything anyone tells me unless I see it in writing.  It may warrant a trip down to the local CSEA office and ask for proof that they've taken the appropriate actions.
