On January 9th of this year (2005) I was given temporary custody of my 9-year old daughter. On May 2nd of this year, I was given permenant custody - all because the mom just gave up. This, all after spending over $25,000 fighting for custody back in 2000 because of allegations of sexual abuse from the stepfather, who is still with the mother.
My point is - don't ever give up hope, maybe someday your dreams will come true. Continue to provide your child with all of the love that you have to give, keep doing the right things, but whatever you do - don't do like I did and give up hope, because just maybe you'll end up with your dream.
Good Luck to all of you, especially you dads - I've been there. Keep track of everything you do, everything you have involved her or him in. You never know when you're going to have to go to court and face our biased judicial system.
