My H has asked me to start a search for a great lawyer to handle our case -- he did not have an aggressive enough lawyer for his divorce and now that the children are older, and asking to spend more time with us, we want to go back to court and have the agreement updated...
I want someone who really knows our courts, really knows the judges, a true doyenne of family law ... Is there some way to do the research from the other end? That is, rather than starting by randomly calling people listed in Martindale, can I get a look at who the lawyers are, who work in the local courts? Whose name shows up on many dockets?
I know the best way is word-of-mouth, but we actually know very few people involved in contentious divorces. These days the norm is to be, well, normal -- something his ex is not aware of.
If anyone could give me help or guidance, I would truly appreciate it. We don't have money for a million $200 consultations.
