As some of you might remember my issue with my attorney basically dissapearing on me well here we go again....

So as far as my attorney issue I recieved a call from her the other day.
This is probally 3 or 4 weeks or more since I last left a letter at her office asking for a reply within 10 business days. I also asked for a refund of my pre-paid retainer as well as a itemized bill for all services on my behalf.

Well in short she told me that she lost the key to her mailbox outside her office (which I think is a lie) because the first small letter I left was not in there when I left the second one... It was a small mailbox that you could look into the slot. There was nothing in there. I know she was pregnant also and she mentioned she just got off maternity leave but it just sounds like a sorry excuse to me. She made no mention of the numerous answering machine messages I left her. I truly believe that she knew I was trying to get ahold of her.

she wanted to get back togther again to go over the case to get famililar with it again. She also mentioned calling her lawyer to get some info but I told her to hold off on all that. All I am thinking is she wants to get the rest of the retainer fee as quickly as possible. I dunno what to do about the situation.

There's no reason to stay with a lawyer you're not happy with. Find a lawyer you can work with.

I would tell the attorney to give you the unused portion of your retainer back or you'll be reporting the entire timeline to the Bar Association. If she truly is aware of how often you've tried to reach her, that should get her attention.
