i have a child with ex girlfriend , i got my daughter on friday for my weekend , an when i went to take her back to her mother i found out she left the state an is not coming back , can i get sole custody since the birth mother abanded her ?? i need help right now!!! the mother was being looked into by children services because the birth mother was drinking an doing drugs in front of our 5 yr daughter an the court papers said she was not to drink or do drugs in front of our daughter, can i get sole custody since it is abandonment of a child???? PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME!!!!!!!! so i know if i can file papers fro abandonment thank you
I would call the courthouse first thing in the morning (do you live in the same county?) and ask them if you can file for something temporary on an emergency basis. How did you find this out? Did she leave a note? Was someone there who told you?
Have you established paternity? If so, it will make things much easier.
yes i have dna done to prove she was my daughter, she told her mother before she left she was going to leave my daughter with me but she wasnt signing any papers. so do i have a good case of abandonment? yes we all lived in the same town thank you
I would file for emergency custody based on the fact mother moved out of state.
Do you have proof she moved to another state???
