Post by: daycare on Sep 16, 2004, 04:34:08 AM
my 2 childern were enroled into daycare and preschool (witthout my
knowlege) and I am not even listed on the emergncy card. I want to
obtain copies of the card, incident reports, and other records. My question is, the school is a part of an Indian casino on Tribal land, which is sovern, am I going to have any problems?? Thanks, bigdaddy.

Who knows...

Give them a fair shake and call them.  Actually, go see them in person if absolutely possible.

Take a copy of the decree that gives you joint custody......and good luck.

A lot of the FERPA stuff, to my knowledge, doesn't apply to pre-schools and daycare.

Also, take a look at your state's laws about what you're entitled to.  Sometimes the detail lies there -- and when they're shown the law, they'll cooperate.
