i came home from a business trip Jan 30-called my daughter didn't hear back from her. she lives with her mother and step-dad (not getting along) we live in the same city-i find out monday night Jan 31 that my daughter was sent out of state to a intervention facility in Idaho called ASCENT while I was away out of town. I knew nothing of this. I wasn't consulted. The mother has full legal soul,physical custody of our daughter. I called this place and they will not let me communicate in any form with my daughter because the mother refuses to consent to that. The only means of communication is thru written letter by her mom only since she has full custody and was the one to place in such a place. does anyone know what rights i have if any in this matter. it's an outrage to say the least.

 The thing is if she has full legal custody your hands are pretty well tied. Not sure of all the details of course with you and yours, but you would basically need to have the custody arrangement changed to joint legal custody for her to be recquired to consult with you, and include you in these sort of decisions in the future.  I hope that things work out for your daughter where she's at and whatever she's going through.
