Can anyone tell me if there is a time limit on a custody evaluation. We had one done in Florida over a year ago and we have not been able to go to trial. A new trial was schedule in August of this year and by that time the report will be a year and half old? Any chance getting the judge to order a new evaluation?
Thanks?
Maybe ask for an updated one? Can you call evaluator and ask if they will meet with each parent and children one more time to update her report as it has been a year and XYZ has happened?
You could definitely ask for one. Especially if there have been changes to the children's situations, or the parents situations, that would strongly impact the evaluation. Things like this would be new people living in the household that weren't interviewed, problems that the kids are having in school or behaviorally that weren't present at the time of the last evaluation, any residential moves, any arrests, etc.
