My DH has a daughter who is 16, she left for Europe last Friday without my DH ever signing anything for a passport and he was never contacted to give his permission for her to leave the states. Doesn't he need to sign for the passport? Is there anything he can do if the BM forged his signature?
Thanks for the help
Does she have sole custody?
No they have joint custody with physical placement with mom...but everything is supposed to be 50/50, she is supposed to consult my DH with any major decisions being made
When are they supposed to come back?
There's a side of me that says "calm down" .... a 16 year old is going to WANT to return after a vacation.
Then when they do, contact the passport office and ask HOW the 16 year old managed to obtain a passport without Dad's signature.
Years ago, it was possible.....but a child's passport expires every 5 years.
I believe only one signature is required for a child over the age of 14. 14 and under required two. (I'd have to check to make sure but I remember thinking I'd have to wait until my youngest was 14 before getting him a passport to go to Dominican Republic for a missions trip.)
