my current custody setup is not via court order. i came via relentless chipping away at time years ago. i have had 50% custody for 7 years via verbal agreement. the ex wants to now uproot and move 50 miles away and bring the child with them.

Go to your family court and get "emergency temporary custody WITH a restraining order that the children not leave current school district until trial". This will keep kids with you until court. You can fill out the papers at the court house or have a lawyer do it for you.
Right now she can legally take children with her since you have no court orders.
