My son (13 1/2 yrs. old) is basicly refusing to live with his mother any longer and has run away and come to my house once (so far) and threatens to leave again. His mom and I are both good, responsible parents, it's just that my son and his mom are like oil and water. He says he wants to live with me constantly. Can I file a change of custody and reasonably expect a positive outcome given that both parents are equal and my son will not be required to change schools if a change of custody were to happen?
I would think that if he were to run away and refuse to return to ex, you may have a case. I don't condone encouraging it though.
Has he explained why he wants out so badly?
