I filed a Modification Petition for Visitation and Right To Show Cause Petition due to being denied my visiation for the last two years with the court. Ex did not obtain an attorney until the last minute. Don't they have to answer the petition and RTSC before the hearing? The state is IL.

They should but the attorney will argue for and most likely receive a continuance on everything because he/she needs time to get up-to-date on the case.
