Title: Medical workers... billing question
Post by: Ref on Jun 06, 2007, 06:12:28 AM
DH got a bill from BM asking for him to pay the "balance due" but also the ROA amount. What the heck is ROA? All I could figure out was that it was "received on account". Is that amount an amount owed from the last visit?

Thanks

Sometimes it counts in the insurance company's payout. I would call the dr directly and ask. It could be the copay that should paid while there? We always had BM give us the insurance bill and a copy of her canceled check.

"Received on account" is the only thing I can think of, and if that's the case, I'd be pretty upset with the BM for trying to take me for a fool!  Talk about trying to get everything she can from you, including what's already been paid!

I agree, call the doctor's office directly and ask to speak to their business manager....they will be able to decipher everything for you.  And let us know exactly what their interpretation of 'ROA' is!
