My ex has kept my son, who just turned 16, out of school the entire school year. I do have joint leagal custody of him as well as physical custody of our 2 daughters. What recourse, if any, do I have to enforce him going to school? They live in a different state (Nevada) and I am in California.
I'd be checking to see what Nevada's laws are in regards to schooling and at what age it is mandatory. Some states still allow kids to drop out at 16. If Nevada isn't one of them, I'd be contacting either county law enforcement, the scholl district he should be attending, and/or the state dept. of education. If this child is truant, the BM will be on the hot seat.
