Soc,
How much (percentage) legally can be garnished from someone's paycheck?
Legally, can someone have 100% siezed?
Thanks
Under Federal Law, for child or spousal support, 50% of the net income after taxes, except, that if the debtor is in arrears for more than 12 weeks, then 65%. This generally requires an additional court order and a finding of the arrears.
For garnishments not related to child or spousal support, 25% maximum.
