Post by: holsingerboys on Aug 03, 2004, 02:33:38 PM
Hi, i have a son who is in a foster home, they just told me the other day they are taking him from here (va) to fl for a vacation, so he will be missing our weekly overnights, with his brothers(who are at another foster home) can a foster parent take a foster child out of state, i was not the one that had the kids taken from my care, there mother was. i am trying to get them now and social services says they want them here, but what are my rights, i have none taken. Can i say no, can i deman makeup time them

I do not know you custody status.  However,, if your child goes on vacation over your scheduled visitation, then you can make up the missed time.  Usually there is a time frame, like 45 days, from your missed scheduled visitation.

If you wouldn't mind sharing -- Why are you children in a foster home?
