Hi, Soc!
Just two questions:
1) What is the format used to write an order for a judge to sign on a temp motion for custody?
2) Do you need anything else once the judge signs the order, supposing he gives temp custody to dh? (Like some kinda enforcement order for the sheriffs or something?)
Thanx Soc!

Caveat: every jurisdiction does it differently. There maybe forms in yours.
(court name, caption, case number, etc.)
Pendante Lite Orders Re Custody
(assumes you are Petitioner, below)
The matter, having come before the court, on motion of Petitioner for an order awarding Petitioner temporary custody of the parties' minor child CHILDNAME, and the court, after reviewing the evidence and testimony submitted, and having been fully advised,
NOW, THEREFORE IT IS HEREBY ORDERED:
1. That, pending further orders of the court, Petitioner is awarded sole physical custody of the parties' minor child, CHILDSNAME.
2. That, Respondent is ordered to transfer physical custody of the minor child, along with all of his/her personal possessions, to Petitioner within 10 days of date of entry of this order.
Dated, this _____, day of _____ 2004,
By: _______________
Judge of the _____ Court

Well, if there's no custody transfer, then you go back and ask for a bench warrant to issue to bring the parent before the court with the child.
