When PHYSICAL custody is granted, who is responsible for opening a Child Support order? I was paying child support and now have been granted physical custody. My CS order is being turned off, but is it my responsibility to start the ball rolling, or does the CS agency take care of that? I live in Minnesota if that makes a difference.
Thanks for all you do for so many people my good Sir!
if you want to receive child support you're going to have to request it. Trust me, the child support agency ain't gonna do a thing to help you get a new CSO. It's basically the same process as when you were required to pay...only in reverse. Make sense?

The custodial parent is responsible. If you can't afford an attorney, you can use your State's office of child support enforcement to obtain an order on your child's behalf.
