Title: Time Limit on Judgement
Post by: lovehiskids on Sep 23, 2004, 08:05:20 AM
Dear Soc.

My husband went to court on 7/9/04 for a custody modification. We are still waiting on a judgement.

1. Is there a time limit on how long a judge can take to render a verdict?

2. Is there anything that can be done to expidite the process?

Thanks
LHK

Different laws for every jurisdiction. You didn't provide a State, so I can't even begin to guess (something that I don't like to do, anyway).

Assuming that your jurisdiction has no rules regarding this issue, I would write to the judge and copy opposing counsel, or the other party, if unrepresented, and politely ask, "WHAT'S TAKING SOFA KING LONG?"
