Title: Amending a Birth Certificate
Post by: snapplegirl69 on Sep 24, 2005, 03:33:05 PM
I have a child born out of wedlock.I mailed a letter to the county clerk for a copy of the birth certificate and receieved a letter stating since parents werent married at childs birth and I was not on the birth certificate,it is not public.

Court is in Massachusetts and all parties reside in Massachusetts.

My question:

1.Do I have to pay to have the birth certificate amended or does the birth mother, since it is not my fault I am not on it.

Thank you

Has there been a hearing to establish paternity? The fact that you are not on the BC is irrelevant if you have a judgment of paternity establishing you as the legal father.
