Title: Massachusetts child support mod. and addition of post secondary expenses
Post by: lookingforanswers on Mar 26, 2006, 03:52:23 AM
Hope you had a great vacation!!!  I am sure that it was much needed time off.

Looking for information on Massachusetts State Laws.

1.   Upon graduation is there a time-frame in which an adult child must enroll in post secondary school?

2.  Can I call the IRS and get a certified copy of Custodial parents and adult childs taxes for the last three years?

Thank you very much

I don't know, but I suspect not. Here's the link to the statute:

No. If there is an action pending on the issue of adult child support, then you can request discovery of the other parent's tax returns from that parent, and you can ask the court to join the child to the case as a party and then request discovery of his/her tax returns. Then, if either refuses, you can ask the court to order them to sign IRS forms as necessary to obtain the documents directly from the feds.
