Does anyone have experience/knowledge of Alabama's Central Distribution Center initiating one of their 4 yr auto review of child support obligations?
Thanks
LizaLou
I'm in AL and the decree has been registered since 1996.
There have been NO automatic reviews.
in Michigan, if the CP goes through the Friend of the Court, the CP is only allowed to have child support reviewed for an increase every two years. This keeps CP's out of the court system every other month.
However, the NCP can petition any time they want for a decrease, given it's more than 11% of a difference.
Automatically to me means that DHR pulls the file and reviews the situation -- with no prompting from the CP or NCP.
I (CP) could have and so could he (NCP) have gone and said "Let's review this" and then let the chips fall where they may (an increase would be the result)....but DHR NEVER took the initiative and started anything.
